Feedback from the 2018 Annual General Meeting

This year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place at Nedbank in Sandton on 26 July, and also saw the election of a new member-elected Trustee.

Quite a number of members decided to join us at this year’s AGM, and used the opportunity not only to get feedback on the 2017 financial year, but also to interact with the Chairman and Principal Officer.

Our Chairman, Howard Stephens, presented the highlights of 2017, emphasising the fact that the Scheme is not profit-driven, but continuously looking for ways to offer our members the best benefits their cheaper-than-industry contributions can buy.

At the AGM Mr Bongani Zulu was duly elected as our latest member-elected Trustee. Mr Zulu works at Nedbank Capital and has been with Nedbank for 17 years. His studies include an MBA from the University of Pretoria and an Advanced Management Programme through Harvard Business School. He is a highly experienced investment banking transactions structurer, with knowledge in taxation, legalities and financial derivatives.

Joining Mr Zulu on the Board, as new Employer-appointed Trustees, are:

Ms Bulelwa Soci
Executive Head: Governance, Risk and Compliance at Nedbank Group Finance
Ms Portia Tsoaledi
Head of Risk, ERM and Compliance: Unsecured Lending – Retail and Business Banking

We welcome our new Trustees and wish them all the best during their term in office.
