One of the challenges faced by medical schemes is that members see the Board of Trustees as "THEY", and themselves as "US". "THEY don't want to pay for my frames." or "THEY increase contributions without realising the effect on US!"
Significant time has to be spent by our Trustees on running the Scheme. In the case of employees, they have to meet all their Board commitments over and above their day-to-day work responsibilities, at no additional remuneration. A thankless job, if ever there was one...
That is why I feel so grateful for being able to work with such an outstanding group of people, and why we will continue profiling our Trustees in this newsletter, so that you can also get to know the people who are doing their utmost to do the best for "US".
